GeolCompass app for iPhone and iPad

The GeolCompass application is primarily a tool for geologists to use in the field to take quick strike and dip readings of fault planes, fractures, or outcrops.

It is extremely simple to use. No more twisting and turning with multiple readings required by traditional devices to record strike and dip. Simply lay the iPhone down on a planar bed and read the strike and dip instantly. Its that simple.

Point the iPhone in any direction and read your heading. All compass readings are auto-magically corrected for magnetic declination using iPhones amazing 3GS technology. Incredible!

Read your elevation and location using the built-in GPS features of the iPhone. If you are in range of the Internet you can view your current location using the built-in Google map service. Wow!

With Release 1.02, as requested by our users, we now support an option for strike readings as azimuth using the right hand rule. In addition we have added degrees decimal readings for location. Set your preference on the information screen.
